This website is operated by Furness Heating Components Limited ("we," "us," or "our"), a family-run business established in 1995. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and all transactions, whether online or by telephone. Please read them carefully—they do not affect your statutory rights. By using our site or placing an order, you accept these terms, which may change at any time. Updates take effect when posted (see date above). Print a copy for reference.

Definitions

• "You" or "Customer": The individual or entity placing an order.
• "Goods": Products such as fireplaces, white goods, gas spares, and heating components. 
• "Services": Additional offerings like delivery or heating cover plans.

1.1) You must be at least 18 years old and accept delivery within the UK to order from us.

1.2) Orders are acknowledged by email (online) or verbally (phone). Acknowledgement does not confirm acceptance. A contract forms when we confirm your order as "Order Placed." We may decline orders for any reason, notifying you by phone or email.

1.3) We accept major credit/debit cards. Delivery is to the cardholder’s billing address unless paid by bank transfer (contact 01229 831711 for details). Orders must be paid in full at the time of purchase. Goods remain our property until payment clears.

 1.4) You’ll receive an email confirmation with your order details. Check it within 12 hours and contact us at 01229 831711 if corrections are needed.

1.5) All goods are subject to availability. If unavailable, we’ll suggest alternatives or cancel the order, refunding any payment. We’re not liable for costs due to unavailability.

2.1) Prices include VAT at the current UK rate and are in GBP (£). Delivery charges may apply (see Section 3).

2.2) We reserve the right to adjust prices due to supplier changes, taxes, or errors. We’ll inform you of corrections before processing and offer cancellation if affected.

2.3) Prices and offers are subject to availability and may change before order acceptance. No refunds are issued for post-purchase price reductions. 

2.4) Product details (images, dimensions, specs) are sourced from manufacturers and offered as a guide. Errors may occur—confirm critical details before ordering. We’re not liable for discrepancies unless goods are faulty on delivery.

3.1) Free Local Delivery: Available within a defined area (call 01229 831711 for details). Orders under £1000.00 incur fee; additional charges apply for remote UK areas (e.g., Highlands, islands) or oversized items.

3.2) We aim to deliver within 7-14 working days (Monday-Friday, excluding holidays) from stock availability. Special orders may take up to 6 weeks—we’ll email you if delays exceed this. Delivery dates are estimates; we’re not liable for losses due to delays.

3.3) Deliveries use pallet couriers or our team, depending on item size. Vehicles (e.g., 10-tonne trucks) deliver kerbside to the billing address. Notify us of access issues (narrow roads, steps, gravel) at 01229 831711. Drivers do not enter properties—you must arrange assistance for heavy items (e.g., fireplaces).

3.4) Inspect goods upon delivery while the driver is present (up to 15 minutes for palletised items). Note damage on the delivery note and email info@furnessheating.co.uk or call 01229 831711 within 24 hours, quoting your order reference. We’re not liable for damage reported after the driver leaves unless pre-existing.

3.5) A signature is required. Missed deliveries incur re-delivery fees (minimum £50). Couriers leave notes for smaller items to rearrange.

3.6) Risk transfers to you upon delivery. Post-dispatch cancellations incur return shipping costs.

4.1) Collections are available from our Barrow-in-Furness showroom (19 Abbey Road, LA14 5UD) by appointment. Call 01229 831711 with 48 hours’ notice.

4.2) Bring the payment card and ID (e.g., driving licence, utility bill). Check goods for damage before leaving—our liability ends once you take possession.

4.3) Ensure your vehicle suits the item’s size/weight. Our team assists with loading but isn’t liable for damage during this process.

5.1) We offer installation services for fireplaces and white goods within our local area (call 01229 831711 for coverage details). Installations are performed by our qualified team, adhering to UK Building Regulations, including Gas Safe standards for gas appliances and HETAS for solid fuel where applicable.

5.2) Booking: Contact us at 01229 831711 to arrange installation after delivery. We recommend inspecting goods before scheduling to ensure they meet your expectations. Installation fees are quoted separately and payable upon completion unless agreed otherwise.

5.3) Customer Responsibilities: You must ensure safe access to the installation site and that goods are suitable for your needs (e.g., compatible flues, power supply). We’re not liable for delays or costs if pre-existing conditions (e.g., faulty wiring, chimneys) prevent installation.

5.4) Natural Variations: Stone fireplaces may have inclusions (veining, fossils) deemed acceptable by manufacturers—not defects. Polished finishes may discolour with solid fuel use—this isn’t a fault.

5.5) Non-Local Areas: Outside our local area, you’re responsible for arranging qualified installers. We’re not liable for third-party work or related costs.

5.6) Liability: Our liability for installation is limited to correcting faults caused by our negligence or
poor workmanship, reported within 14 days of completion. We’re not responsible for misuse, neglect, or issues with goods installed by others.

6.1) Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014 (for individuals), you may cancel within 14 days from the day after delivery. Notify us in writing at info@furnessheating.co.uk or 19 Abbey Road, Barrow-in-Furness, LA14 5UD, quoting your order number.

6.2) Goods must be unused, in original packaging unopened, and in resaleable condition. You cover return shipping costs. Refunds are processed within 14 days of receipt (typically 7 days), excluding delivery charges.

6.3) Non-Returnable Items: Special orders (e.g., gas spares, custom parts) and clearance items are non-returnable.

6.4) Damaged packaging incurs a £50 repackaging fee. We reserve the right to refuse returns or apply a 25% restocking fee for goods outside the 14-day period.

6.5) Email info@furnessheating.co.uk to request a return. Use an insured courier—we’re not liable for transit damage.

7.1) If goods arrive damaged or faulty, notify us within 24 Hours at 01229 831711 or info@furnessheating.co.uk with photos and your order reference. We’ll replace or refund at no cost, subject to inspection.

7.2) Faults after delivery (e.g., within 12-month manufacturer warranty) require a qualified engineer’s report. We’re not liable for misuse, neglect, or normal wear (e.g., soot on gas fires).

7.3) Replacement goods remain our property until paid for or faulty items are returned.

8.1) Your details are stored securely and not shared with third parties. Card details are encrypted via 128-bit SSL and not retained. See our Privacy Policy at www.furnessheating.co.uk.

8.2) We’re not liable for losses from unauthorized access unless due to our negligence.

9.1) Our liability is limited to the order value. We’re not responsible for indirect losses (e.g., profit, earnings) or costs from delays/installation.

9.2) We disclaim liability for website errors or viruses, providing the site “as is.” This doesn’t limit our liability for death/injury from our negligence.

11.1) Refunds are issued only when goods are returned per Section 6 (Cancellations and Returns) or deemed faulty per Section 7 (Faulty Goods).

11.2) Conditions: Goods must be unused, in original packaging, and in resaleable condition (for cancellations) or inspected and confirmed faulty (for defects). Special orders (e.g., gas spares, custom parts) and clearance items are non-refundable.

11.3) Process: Once we receive and inspect returned goods, we’ll process refunds within 14 days (typically within 7 days for cancellations, or 24 hours of receipt for faulty items). Refunds cover the goods’ cost, excluding delivery/installation fees unless we’re at fault.

11.4) Faulty Goods: For goods faulty on arrival, we’ll refund or replace at no cost (including return shipping). Post-delivery faults under warranty are refunded only after an engineer’s report confirms a manufacturing defect, not misuse or wear.

11.5) Installation: No refunds are issued for goods installed by us unless our workmanship is faulty (reported within 14 days). Goods installed elsewhere void refund eligibility unless defective on delivery.
